W210 AMG Brake Upgrades
Quick question, I have a W210 E36 AMG (predecessor to the E55 and only 400 off built by AMG).
Overall I am very impressed with the car but wondered if any of you have upgraded your brakes?
On the E36 I know AMG took the caliper set up from the E430 at the time as it was the biggest brake system available, and I am not sure what the E55 runs spec wise but was kind of curious if anyone has and could recommend a uprated brake system for the W210?

I mean if it is just drilling out the brackets, and the rotor had a similar offset as the w210 then it should be fairly east to do.
Anyone?

Stock wheels will not fit and you will need wheels with better brake clearance in order for this to work.
Again, OEM wheels will not fit though.

for example, stock 18x8et31 rims might not fit, but 18x8et43 rims with a 12mm spacer might because the offset if the same for fender/suspension clearance, but there is less "lip" on the rim and hence more space inside the wheel for a bigger caliper.
IF the SLK55 caliper was a bolt on I'd be all over it, I hope it is. Let the research commence
SLK55 has 3 different Brake setups:
6/4 piston - 340x32mm front and 330mm rear - pre face lift (all)
6/4 piston 360x32mm front and 330mm rear - facelift with Performance Package
4/2 piston - 345x32mm front and 330mm rear - facelift without PP
Also the Setup from the CLK63 W209 is the same ... 360mmx32mm 6 piston and 330mm 4 piston ... i drive these on my car
