Exclamation i think its an engine mount ... is it???

hi guys done search on here about the whole engine mount thing, but some explain a little of my symtoms but mainly dont...... so here's what happened and see what you think....

driving today normal..... put me foot down and car down changes to i think 2nd.. it should of realy did 1st but didn't so i lifted throttle slightly and then re-planted it....... at that moment it did a indycar gear change to 1st and all of its POWER came out in 1 quick PUNCH... followed by a bang/thud

car seemed to then idle lower from that moment but if im honest i think it was simply down to the increased vibration in cabin now that made the roof lining rattle....as soon as revs are slightly lifted goes quiet again....

on start up its a little rattly others wouldn't of noticed it but i do as it didn't do that before......... under light to medium accelration no problems.....

under hard accelration no noise untill i back off throttle which is follwed by a BIG KNOCK/BANG fron front end i think near side/pasengers side (mine is a right hand drive EURO)

so if i put it in low gear and then almost throttle it then off then on then off etc etc etc i get a constant bang everytime i come off throttle.. which i can feel through the car.........

NOW ..................... what do you think

thanks in advance

Also are e55 engine mounts same as normal e430 mounts or are they special?????

Hate to be cliche, but my thoughts would be to get a MB tech under the car as soon as possible...not an expert by any stretch, but to me it sounds more like a drive-shaft issue....maybe...anyway, good luck!

i see where your comig from but it just doesnt fit...... if it was drive shaft shurly it would happen at any speed, also it would prob either happen half way down car or right at back..... and would be a knock but only a light ish knock, yes the prop is heavy but not heavy compared to engine moving and it does feel completly front end and very heavy...........

4 wheels
mounts

yes sir that there is an engine mount issue... same thing used to happen in my relatives 2000 E320 but a little less violently than you say...i wouldnt really advise you to go for it... and get those mounts changed, but its most probably the mounts and or some other issues.

as per other thread.... attemped a test to see if engine mounts dead....

Foot on brake then throttled as if trying to do a burn out..

engine almost jusmped out of engine bay lifted about 4 inch's out of bay!!!!!

so they getting done in a couple of days... gentle driving in mean time..
