I Found The Problem

Repair rates are from $65. to $150. per hour of labor and depends on the shop and city. Is this to change your spark plugs? 4 hour job that seems very fair if you don't want to get dirty. I have not replaced my plugs on my E55 yet but hear it takes 4-6 hours depending on who’s doing the work. All are pretty easy but the driver side last 2 plugs. Your plug wires may need to be replaced after install because sometimes they get broken during the install due to age and handling.
Sounds good Jimmy... thanks a bunch!! I would love to go to a mechanic who knows our cars and of course, affiliates with people like us.

Go here and look over all these DIY and there is a area on replacing your S Plugs with pictures. It won't take a year but maybe half the day. What else could you be doing? Watching the game?

Carbon build-up is also caused by babying the car too much
So fill her w/ race fuel..... do WOT all the time for the whole tank.... that should clean your internals.... but of course, after you replace the plugs and MAF.

I've been told plugs need to changed every 45/50k at a B service. Maybe your e55 has been used mainly in congested towns and areas hence the build up and break up of your plugs? So hopefully with a new set fitted and used on the highway with a good blast, should pay dividends for you?

u see, what you're doing is just blindly throwing new parts at your car and not knowing what the root cause of the problem is. that won't get you anywhere
and fyi, mercedes are NOT 'bulletproof'. in fact, i always swear by this old saying, "the most expensive used car money can buy is a cheap mercedes". you'll find out

BTW - I would not count on plugs lasting 100K on ANY car.

my local specialist and local dealer told me 45/50k (at least on a B service) for plugs, thankfully mine were replaced 10k ago, so at least I'll not have that job for a few years yet!
