With 26k miles you shouldn't be burning any oil. Did you notice anything on the driveway where you park, is anything leaking? I used to run Mobil1 in all my Benzes until I switched to Royal Purple and I never had any issues. What weight Mobil1 are you using???

I had the same issue last year. I removed only 4 oz of oil through the dipstick. I bet you removed more. Add half of what you removed through the dipstick. viola!

I don't know how much oil you put in there but your support to put 8QT of 0W40 weight oil. You might get away with 5w30 but 10W30 is a little to thick. My car use about 1/5 qt of oil ever 1.5 month.

btw, isn't easier to measure with the dipstick and fill from the oil cap??? i don't need the computer to tell me how to much oil is in the engine when the most acurate & easiest way is looking at the dipstick..
