2002 E55 vs 2008 C6
Well, I've almost convinced myself to shift rides. Been with MB & BMW since 93, but for whatever reason - feel drawn to the vette (maybe I ate too much turkey). Definetly want a 2-door; was originally looking at the SL55, but the value of the vette just can't be avoided. Other than the sleeper aspect; quality engineering, roominess and reliability....any other downside?

Those vettes are great machine especially that new 6.2 Engine with 435HP for the base coupe for 2008, but I'll stick with Mercedes and get an SL if you want a 2 door but thats just my opinion

unfortunately, im going to be the opposing team here. i have a C5 vette and i love it! makes 675hp all motor and man, i tell ya, i can whoop on just about anything on the road! yea, its a dime a dozen as a sports car, but the SL is just too damn expensive if you want to have fun. there are millions of parts out there for a vette, but not soo much for the SL. yea, the SL is cooler and a convertible hardtop, but it all depends on your needs. #1: Are you going to want to do auto crosses or drag racing or all out have some excitement driving, or #2, you just want a 2dr to go crusing?
if its #1, get a vette, if its #2, get a SL.
most people do not recognize the SL. but they will the vette for sure! i'll be honest, people in my neck of the woods know me b/c of my vette, its an attention getter. the benz, ha...never get any compliments on it, regardless of the fact its a RARE car... just goes to show...

I'm a first time Vette owner and would not hesitate to purchase another, it's truly a rewarding experience owning one and some of the most pleasant people I've met are Vette owners!
