Spacers Question help please

I recently bought from a member Ichiba 5mm spacers for my E55, my question is....while they are chamfered around the hub opening they dont have a lip like the H&Rs I used to have, BUT in the past I only used 10mm and above, could it be that they dont have a lip because they are too thin (5mm )? , does anyone know if the 5mm H&Rs have a lip or not? Spacers are not something I like to gamble with. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Can you take a picture of your spacers??? I don't think mine have a lip from what you're describing and they're H&R 5mm.

i think proper hubcentric spacers- what we require- have a lip. Mine do.

If you guys are referring to the little protrusion (I guess you can call it a lip) that sticks out from the center bore of the spacer, yes mine has that. I also have these plastic type washers and are concave and fit into the center bore of the wheel where this "lip" fits into to secure the spacer. I guess that makes the spacers hubcentric to avoid vibrations.

Jimmy, the lip is the little ridge around the opening, I called H&R and they also confirmed that with the 5mm ones they have, no lip either, I will post a picture shortly. Regards, Max

...............Yes 5mm spacers from most sources do not have a lip. They are not hub centric. Lack of a lip is because the 5mm spacers are too small and your rim should still be able to hug the hub with the spacers in place.

I took one of my wheels off to see what we're all talking about. Everyone is correct, my 5mm H&R spacer DOES NOT have a lip. It is concave though around the center bore and that's where that little black plastic hubcentric washer goes. Unfortunately when I went to grab my camera the battery was dead so I couldn't take any pics. lol...sorry...

hey jimmy,
what kind of performance are u getting since u have several upgrades.....just curious about how much better your car runs over stock.....im guessing a 1/2 second better in the 1/4 mile and 4 tenths 0-60, and your passing times must be much stronger...let me know i might get the ams pulley and ecu upgrade

I'm so freakin busy that I haven't dyno'd or tracked the car yet!!! I can't wait to see the results on paper but overall, the car pulls so much stronger, no joke. I mean the torque must be through the roof and pulls so hard, especially between like 80-110mph, I get thrown back into my seat when I punch. The pulley and the airbox I think have been the biggest help but I still want to see what kind of HP I have. Soon enough I'll take it out and let you know. Thanks!
