Wink New AMG line?

Is there a new AMG line I'm not aware of?
Just this week alone, I saw an E500 AMG, a S500 AMG, a CL500 AMG. To top it off, I saw a ML600 AMG (on a Honda or Acura SUV).

I am under the impression that if the engine is not a 5.5 or 6.3 then a Mercedes with a 5.0 (500) engine or a 6.0 (600) engine is not a true AMG. The latter would be a Stage 2 (AMG body kit, rims, and suspension). And, the former being a Stage 3 (AMG body kit, rims, suspension, and engine). FYI, a Stage 1 would be AMG body fit and rims only.

Perpetrators simply buy the AMG badge and stick it on their trunks!

You also see many BMW's with "M" logo's everywhere on the back....not even in the correct places!

I suppose if they think they are fooling most of the people (and they are!)....then in their own minds they are getting away with saving the extra $$$ for the real AMG thing!

Little they know, driving an AMG is a personal experience. You do it for yourself not others'. Older AMGs like these W210s recieved quite a bit of enhancements by hand at the AMG plant back then that makes driving them far more rewarding both physicaly and emotionaly.

I agree, unless the car is a 32, 50, 55, 63, 65, etc (prob forgot a few). it should not be badged AMG regardless of the "AMG package" it has on it. That's my opinion as well and no offense to those that bought their car that way and if it was me, I'd take it off, lol...
