G'day , I'm new to the forum and just about to purchase a 2000 model E55. Does anyone have any tips on what I should look out for, any potential issues that this model has?

Other than burnt out pixels on the dash displays (whole cluster replacement for $1k is the only fix), and the typical front suspension stuff (rotten bushings, loose ball joints, etc.) that you can expect with anything that age, those cars are pretty well bulletproof.

 

The only problem I can see, is not waiting for the 211 e55s to come down a little more and buy one of them... Get one with some miles on it.
