Sluggisg E55 accelaration
Hi there,
I have a 2000 E55 having done 105,000 KMs and is in excellent nick other than one recurring problem. On normal take off, it powers like running on three cylinders until it hits 75KPH and she becomes the car I fell in love with. I have taken it to MB who have done all the diagnostic testing and replaced the air mass sensor ($700) - the car ran OK for a few months then reverted back to the original problem. Brabus have also checked it out and replaced the accelarator sensor ($600) but again, after a few months, groundhog day.
We are all scratching our heads now. The only bandaid solution that has worked is to revert the factory settings which works for a few months only however I am looking for a permanent solution with too much more expensive guesswork. Help!

I think you are probably looking at a new ecu. I have had similar problems as this on several different cars. Are you still under 8 and 80,000? Probably not but thought you were close enough to ask. The ecu is covered for 8yrs and 80,000 miles in the U.S.
