Oil Dip Stick Tip
Ever notice when you pull out your oil dip stick that there's hardly any resistance? Or when you put it back in it just slides back in?
Did you know it's supposed to almost "snap" back in?
If it doesn't your o-ring is probably old and brittle and not making a good seal.
It's probably one of the cheapest fixes you can do. Just find the appropriate o-ring use any pointed tool to pull the old one out (mine cracked) and slide the new one in.
I actually used the small o-ring that comes with the oil filter kit.
Slide the the dip stick back in and you'll have a satisfying feeling that all is good with your dip stick!

Another reason to check this is that the crankcase ventilation system works by allowing a metered amount of air through to draw the blowby gasses back into the induction system. The O ring maintains the seal at the dip stick so the correct amount of air flows in. If the O ring is compromised, you will get extra air which will effect, to some degree the fuel air mixture and the performance of the engine.
