ECU upgrades range from $300-600 depending on brand and its a much easier less invasive way to doing the same thing. Split second has been around for ages and its a very old-school way of tuning a car (many of the euro cars from the 80s were tuned this way, bmw E30s & etc) but honestly not many people use it anymore. Standard ECU tuning is more than enough for your application.
