does the E55 have a limited slip differential?

I think the ASR system is the systm on car that acts most closely to a limited slip diff. This can't be turned off like the ESP.
I don't think so. The traction control (ESP) works to a degree like a limted slip by engaging the brake on a wheel spinning too much and forcing the torque to be applied to the other wheel. This is why even with the ESP switched off the light still flashes off and on when the drive wheels are spinning. It is not totally disengaged when switched off. I asked Hartmut Feyhl about positraction for my E55 and he didn't think it was necessary with this system on my car. He was right, I run 12.1 sec. ET's and no positraction. For road racing it may be a diffrent matter, I don't know. Maybe someone else can comment on that.
0-20 1.16 sec., 0-40 2.47 sec., 0-60 4.26 sec., 0-80 6.53 sec., 0-90 7.9 sec. This jives with my 1/8 mile 7.902 ET @ 91.64 and my best 1/4 mile ET of 12.105 @ 118.32 MPH. This is on Bridgestone S-03 street tires.
