hi guys! i was driving home lastnyt coming from a car display here in philippines. i was invited in a display in manila. so my drive was 100kms since i live 1 hour away from manila . so driving home on the hiway i noticed a whinning sound where in i couldnt identify where its coming from. i ask my buddy who was with me he said it was comin from the tires but then i checked it listed to it and still couldt identify where the sound is coming from. could it be tranny? wheel bearing? or tires? im using dunlop direzza in front and continental sport tires in rear. and also how can you tell if your low in tranny fluid? and how can you tell if you have a broken wheel bearing? thanks!

i checked it putting the car in neutral while gong down the road and the whinning is stil there tried driving fast to slow whining seems still to be there althou it gets low when slowing down...... and also how can you check if you still have greease on the axle boots? couold it be axles? thanks!

To check your bearings, jack the car up and rotate each wheel to see if it is rough or making any noise while you spin it. Try to rock the wheel back and forth to see if there is any play.

what if theres a little play? does it mean its broken? my right side front wheels seems to have one.

i had it checked todAY the mechanic said its the tires and some wind cause the sound is very low and it comes on at speeds above 80kph. he said it could be tires cause its too wide and also wind bumping on the front face of the car cause the w210 is not the aerodynamically good. but also he advised me to replace the front wheel bearing specially on the right side cause it has small shakes....thanks guys
