pulled CEL codes today....
well with my "extreme" exhaust setup my car got CEL codes.....not the o2's, not the MAF.....the code was fuel trim on bank 1 and 2.....PO170 and PO173.....my friend who pulled them is a BMW/Porsche tech and he said my system may be running outside oem parameters and it may need a custom map to compensate......so do I just need to do a ECU upgrade or can it be something else? I would like to figure it out before adding anything else....

Yes, www.azautohaus.com has the two from OEM Bosch plug-in replacements for only $129 each. The rears are only $95 each. (do NOT buy the solder/splicing kind). AZ Autohaus has the cheapest prices around usually and the prices always include free shipping for any order over $50.
You need two front ones, both L & R (two rears are optional and are only really there to make sure the primary cats are working or exist at all).

The Bosch Air Mass Sensor is only $154 from them, and comes in true New Bosch sealed packaging (DO NOT trust ebay auctions, most are fakes, used ones being sold as new).

In this case age can be more important than mileage. I've seen them go bad on cars with 49k miles. I would do Primary O2s first, then MAF.

P0170 + P0173 = Worn MAF sensor. These codes appeared at 47K on mine. You can clean it first, but I guarantee the codes will return shortly after. Replace the MAF sensor, and your "buttometer" will thank you.

If your car has 100k+ just replace both MAF and the two primary O2s. At that point you really need to give her a decent tune up, and doing both will do wonders to the way the car performs.

When the 2002 says number Front left 16274 And Front Right 16353 ????????
I changed to 16274 on my car and since then the car has behaved really strange
I guess i should have a 16353 and a 16274 on my car even if it's a 2001 cause i have the Bosch ME 2.8, or???

Why does the 2001 say i should only have part number 16274 for both left and right side?

Did you have the car custom tuned for your SC kit? If so then maybe it was tuned on your old O2s which could have read differently than your new ones. That could in theory be the problem. Normally each plug is individual and color coded from bosch so its very hard to install the wrong one (but I wouldn't rule that out). You may have to change the other one as well for your appropriate model year.
EDIT: After doing more research it appears that every year W210 E55 AMG used differerent O2 sensors.. The 2000 used completely different O2 sensors as well with completely different part #s. So My recommendation is buy the appropriate O2 sensor for your year model E55 (99/2000, 2001 or 2002 are unique to their model year).

Have a look at this picture on the right side (passenger)the short one on top is the one that came from Autohausaz with part number 16274 for my 2001 according to their site
BUT have a look at the longer one on the bottom, it's the stock one that says part number
0 258 006 353/354
Can't be the same as the 16274 one, it should be the same length at least?
