Whats missing ?
Hi
I am a total newbie to the e55, had mine for 2 weeks now and loving it
The only problem i have has been covered extensively here so have ordered a new throttle position sensor lol
My main question is what is missing from the ally hoop under the engine cover? Mine has nothing there.
I found this picture on the net but havent a clue what the component is

All are correct friends! this unit is an electric insuflating air pump, only works on a cold start by a few seconds maybe one minute, but the only purpouse is the emition control & turn the cats very hot in a short time (the 2 golden metal flaps near the black pump introduce exhaust gas by the exhaust port to the intake system again "recirculating" to help the cold start), no worry about that, (i think all the US spec versions have that, In the Euro spec... some cars have it & some cars not) no worry about friend

Thank you all, that is a relief as it looks like something major is missing LOL
