EASY QUESTION ABOUT AIR FILTERS
So can anyone tell me roughly how much horse power I would gain if I added k&n filters on my E55? I heard about 35 to 40 is that right? thanks guys

i,e popping them right into your car without wiping them down and letting them sit out in the sun for a bit and most importantly not cleaning them correctly and letting them dry correctly is another issue. I always pop in my paper filters for a day when cleaning my K&N's and never had an issue. and this going back since 1999

There are cars where a bad intake system is used intentionally to limit the motor (think the old Camaros where they choked a Corvette motor down with a restrictive filter and exhaust so it wouldn't compete with a Vette). On cars such as these, you might actually make that type of power.
The E55 AMG is not one of these cars. The stock filters are marginally restrictive, but to the tune of a few hp compared to K&N. I'm having a hard time picking an easier and cheaper mod, however. Just don't expect magic.
