thermotec exhaust wrap

hi guys! i just want to aks if it would make a difference if a wrap the whole exhaust system vs wrapping only the headers and downpipe? will it make difference in power? cause i have thermotec wrap my headers up to half of the car past the transmission ... then half of the exhaust has no thermotec wrap. im planinng on wraping the whole thing now up to before muffler including the xpipe area will it make any difference in power? thanks

Very doubtful. The gains would be minimal at best. Wrapping after the X pipe, there would basically be no benefit. Also, heat wrap can get wet and cause rust, so it's possible you cause a lot of damage for no real gains.

it may eventually cause the steel to fail, it puts alot of additional strain on the metal and there is a possibility for oxidation even on stainless. It won't really make any power but it will keep engine bay temps lower.

To expand on what AMS said, heat wrapping the headers will lower engine bay temps. But heat wrapping the exhaust under the car (i.e. past the transmission) isn't going to help your engine bay temps. Correct me if that wasn't what you were saying.

Correct, wrapping the mid pipes isn't going to do anything really.
