Its still up for debate. In N54-engined BMW cars (135, 335, 535 etc), higher rates of fuel pump failures has been recorded with increased levels of ethanol in gasoline cited (frustratingly) as one of the chief cause. Not sure how our (more traditional) M113 will fare, I was just thinking that very fact recently.

Oregon has been using E10 blend in winter since 1997. Now, almost all gas in Oregon is 10% Ethanol except for boat docks and a few card lock pump stations.
You get about 10% less mpg and power is less too. It's **** gas, so avoid it if you can...I haven't had any fuel related problems on my M113 that could be attributable to ethanol

ethanol downside is that with the smallest bit of water can cause phase seperation where the ethanol seperates and forms a glob around the water . also ethanol cleans the inside of the tank so all sediment is absorbed into the glob and in turn obstruct and clog pick up lines and componants . very common with boats and older vehicles . its also been known to rott fuel lines but i havent heard much with newer vehicles .

almost all gas in US is 10% ethanol even if they don't tell you. Theres no real way to get around it if everywhere supplies it, as long as its 10% or less it should be ok, once you start getting over 15% problems start coming up.

Here in my country the fuel runs like ****! we don't know what the % of ethanol used here, really this is stupid
the fuel here is a big problem with the actual ASHOLE president
but the true is that in our workshop, we replace fuel pumps every day! int the 163, 210, 124, 203, 209 & 211 we have problems, one Ml63 with 18k too
very bad, but i think the % of ethanol here is very very bbiiigg to contrarest the deficience in the GAS cost.. The ethanol no comme other problems here, but the fuel pumps ruin very soon.

Hello Fabio, sounds like they may be trying to run 15-20% and not tell you. A few stations started running 15% in the USA years ago and lots of problems started showing up so the limit was put back in at 10%. The rule of thumb is on any normal gas engine, no more than 10% alcohol (aka ethanol or any other kind). Any more and you can start running into issues (as you know very well).
This idiots have a Heavy Petrol Productor Country & no have idea about work with this... only one think AAAASSSSHOOOLLEEEEESSS!!
![off topic](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/ot.gif)
Only the personal of the GAS production here know the proportion of ALCOHOL included in the FUEL, but is restricted by the govern, people know what is the proportion

People here only can pay to fix all the problems..

Heeeyyy guys!! i know this is an old thread !! but i have some news to sayd!
Here in my country we experiment extreme issues with the fuel.. We replace in our workshop lots of fuel pumps, fuel injectors, Corroded Gas tanks an another LOOOTSSS of fuel pumps.. we end keeping a fuel example & go to analize center
You never know what we find! our 95 octane fuel has not 95 octanes! has 91!! & 23% of ethanol or some alcohols diluated (this motherFckers only know what shat are using in) its terrible.. the Gas here are a real shat
.. but it's not all.. we go to analize an example of the 91 octanes fuel & yes, they have 89.70 octanes BUT the % of plumb sits 2.4% (YES PLUMB) this assoles sayd some years ago that they remove all the plumbing to the fuels to stay GREEN with the planet & our health... is pretty ironic & stupid..
This country have the all *******s in the govern.. the principal is the "Hugo Monkey"

Just read your post today. I guess the only ethanol-free petrol available today is Petron's Blaze 100 Euro 6. It is classified as NEAT gasoline. I'm inquiring if Shell's V Power 97 Racing is NEAT gasoline or ethanol mixed fuel.
