Headlight haze

I have a 99 E55 and the headlights have over time developed a haze. I went to pep boys and bought a "kit" to remove the haze. The kit did not help at all.

Anyone have this problem and was able to resolve it?

Thank you.

I just had mine done. A friend of mine scuffed them with 400 grit sand paper(not exactly sure on sand paper grit though) and shot them with a coat of clear. They look pretty good and even brighter at night to me.

Get some 1500 grit sandpaper and wet sand the headlights. It may seem to be taking the haze off very slowly, but just keep working on it for about half an hour and finish it off with some plastic polish. Make sure the keep the headlight and the sandpaper wet at all times. They should be as good as new when you're finished.

PlastX from Meguairs works well for light haze.

Tougher stuff (sounds like your issue) will require wet sanding. You can search here for sanding headlights, or google for general info for cars in general.

Hey guys a Owen a body shop for a long time so

the best way is wet send with 1000 grit send paper and clear coted
the lens have a clear coat from the factory so wen you wet send make shore
you do not go over that coat if you deed you will have to send it all down to the plastic if not going to do that then you will have some spot's under the clear cote

the polishing head lights lens is wrong after about 2-4 Mons the lens will have some cracks and at the and you will have to replace head lights
