anyone have the C32 calipers on their W210 E55
i hear these are a direct swap on to the W210 E55 and they supposedly stop better.
i'd like to hear from those of you that did this swap to get an idea of what's involved.
my brakes are almost done and ineated of shelling out $250+/ea. front rotor i was thinking to go to the C32 setup assuming i can find a nice set of calipers for a good price and get new C32 rotors which are 1/2 the cost.
thanks.

I’m also interested in an answer to the above.
I think our front brakes and the C32’s are both dual piston calipers. I don’t see how a brake swap will stop out car faster.
On a different but similar note, I heard that slk55 6 piston calipers were a direct swap also. Has anyone does this?

slk55 6 pistons are also supposed to be a direct swap, however they are alot more costly to buy ~$600 per caliper, not to mention the rotors are ... ***better sit down before you read this*** ~$750/piece for the fronts, YES, $750 for EACH front rotor. these would be the same as MB used on the CLK63 Black Series.
this would defeat the purpose i had in mind for this swap, which is to save some money on future brake jobs while still maintaining similar/or better braking performance(which is sufficient for this car IMO, or at least for my driving style).
on the other hand if you're looking for a budget BBK you couldnt go wrong with the SLK55 setup.
now back on topic with the C32 swap :-)

I think you need to upgrade too the AMG AERO II wheels by other model, because it not have clearance with this calipers (the amg c32 caliper are too wide in the front side because are 4 pistons (2 per side), but i only suposse that, i'm not sure, but you can check
Hope that help

Im running CLK55 calipers upfront and SLK55 calipers out back. i really noticed a difference, especially with the rear setup. There also lighter and cheaper to replace. Fronts bolted right up, rear needed to trim backing plate. Front brakes didnt clear when i had my mono's on.

do you know if CLK55 calipers are larger than C32 calipers? i thought they are but i'm not 100% sure.better yet, ill check the part numbers.
maxwerks did you succesfully install the C32 calipers, rotors and pads on your E55? if so were you able to continue using the factory 18" Monoblocks or did you have to use different wheels?
i would do the swap myself but im not really doing it for performance ... i'm doing it because the parts are a lot cheaper for the C32 setup and i hear performance is very similar to the W210 E55 setup. yes it would cost me as much as a new set of W210 E55 rotors and pads the first time but next time i need brakes it will be less than half the cost.
that said if the stock wheels cannot accomodate the C32 brakes properly, without spacers or other mods i will not be doing it. I like the stock wheels and dont really like using spacers.

Lawrence , yes I did the C32 brakes on mine .. I hardly drive the car but they stayed on for a couple of weeks before I went to all Brembo... the problem is that I have been running 19s for quite a long time on that car, so I couldnt tell you if they clear the 18 AMG monoblocks or not...somehow I just cant imagine having a problem with that.. I do recall seeing few C32 with the 18s from the E55, I think best bet is to search in the C32 forums for C32 with the 18s monoblocks II.
Have you seen a set of C32 brakes available at a price that justify that ? As you have seen several people in the know have stated no improvement over the OEM..just a reminder! To me if there is no improvement I would always choose the OEM setup.. JMHO. Best regards, Max

You are upgrading your brake set-up by Visual/apparence improvemment or really for performance braking? really the E55's have an impressive stopping power maybe you have some troubles with your system. try flushing change your brake fluid put some stanless lines & see what happen
But if you want a new apparence & visual effect just DO IT & go for the new AMG silver calipers i really like the 8 pots front / 4 pots rear by the E55 W211 but no clear my AERO II very bad
PD: I'm very sure in the W210 amg not have clearance with the OEM wheels.. i see the C32's with the aero II but the difference in the C32 is the brake disc "i think" the offset are insidest than the E55 for this reason the calipers in the C32 are located more inside than the E55 but you can obvius this comment & check puting one caliper in the car & try the wheel before made the complete job

The E55 brakes are fine with me, they're just very pricy.

thanks for all your help guys.

i can get a set of C32 calipers for cheap but i dont want to buy them, new rotors and pads only to have them not fit. i wasnt looking for a performance improvement as the factory setup is more than enough for me ... i was mainly looking to save a few bucks down the line when i need brakes again.

i double checked with someone who has done this mod and found out the following:
1. The FRONT rotors, calipers and pads are a direct bolt in.
2. they do require hubcentric spacers to clear the stock AMG Monoblocks. 19" wheels should clear without any issues.
hope this helps someone else if they're looking to do it ... i'm sticking with the E55 stock setup as i dont want to deal with spacers, and i want to keep the 18'' Monoblocks.

SAMON55,
I know that your rear calipers comes from SLK55 but does your rear rotors came from SLK55 too ? or those are OEM (your car) rotors ? Also if i say your FRONT & REAR rotors are the same sizes do you agree ? Man I hope you will tell me that the rear calipers and the rear rotors are plug n play no modify needed. Im thinking to that to my CLK500...Im assuming that you know I already got the front (comes with stock) calipers like your but not the rear.
Thanks,
Andy

Is the same for the C32's buddy. the S class (220) have the same calipers than the C32 the difference is the silver painted with the AMG logo for the C32's than the black ones in the 220

Sorry to bump old thread, but trying to learn about the brake upgrade options. RAMON55's photo above on the front... says it is the CLK55. Is this the same as the SLK55 (non-030 amg perf pack option) and C32 upgrade? From my research, I'm getting the impression that parts are the same across all those models. Can anyone confirm?
Trying to learn about these upgrades is a little tricky as it seems like more than half the posts about them don't talk about specifics (part numbers, years, chassis, etc). But I'm slowly picking it up I think. The lower end option C32 upgrade is pretty darn cost effective, especially as I think you can get the calipers for about $150/ea remanufactured. But geez, the 6 piston calipers on the SLK55 030 amg perf pack option are SEXY AS ALL HELL.
BTW, I think that the 030 6 piston calipers are going for about $550/ea and the rotors for about $500/ea right now. Are these like 100K mile rotors or something? Or just damn expensive?
