hi guys! i was just driving earlier then the LAMP DEFECTIVE pop out on the dash. i went looking for what bulb was out and it was the 3rd brake light which is not working... could it be fuse or bub?? if bulb what type of bulb are we using ? if fuse what type of fuse does it need ? thanks

You have to check what type of third brake light you have, if memory serves there are two kinds,, one boxy type ( similar to the W124 ) , and one which is a strip embedded in the rear shelf.. if I am not mistaken , the latter is an LED.
Check all your fuses first, the fuse is either on the drivers side dash or under the rear seat next to the battery .. then go from there. If you need to replace the LED strip lamp , I think the MB part number starts with 208xxx... I have never seen an after market replacement for that .. it is not too expensive but getting to it is a pain.

i have the old type the semi box type. its a small rectangular type.

its a short type 3rd brake light. not the long thin brake light

Check the fuses first .. but chances are the bulb is out in the box.. you have to pry the box open , be careful and go slow, it is not the easiest thing to open.
You might want to do a search on the W124 forum also ... I think it is the same type box which is used on the W124

thanks mxwerks!!ill have it check tomorw! but the lamd defect only gave me 1 warning then after that nomore warnings.....but still the 3rd brakelight doesnt work
