Fuel pump problem?

Hi!
I need all the help i can get,
My E55 -99 stoped yesterday, a typical ran out of gas stop, but i filled up the tank 2days a go, i tought it was Water/ice in the fuelsystem(-20c outside) but the car have been in the garage for a day now and wont start, it allso sounds just like a pump who is run dry or a small fan upp in front when key is turnd on..never heard that before..is it a secondary pump in front?

could it be the main fuel pump..and if so how can i see if its broken or work?

thanks /Tommy

yes the one in the pic is the one up front but it's for vapors, over time it does get loud and makes a ticking noise, new replacement can't barely hear it (i changed mine due to noise).

sounds like you're problem is not this though, but the one on the tank itself, you can pull your trunk lining and see it it's easy access...

Ok so i disconnected the pump electrical and polisched the connectors then it started up but not in a smooth way.. it sounds and feels bad.. and the car runs like ****!
so now a new pump is ordered!

it suposse to go 2sec when hitting second key possition and then run when the crank rotate.. so to speak when you hit the startengine

ok i know bad english but maybe this thread helps someone=)

Have you ever chgd your MAF and CPS(crank position sensor) before? These are maintenance items that need to be done or one day you will have some serious starting and stalling issues.
