keyLess go

I have done a search of the site, but can not seem to find a description of exactly what Keyless go is.
I have a 2001 E430 that has the IR type of " key" . Is that the same as keyless go?

If I am not mistaken, when you have the keyless go option, there wil be an ignition (to start and to stop the engine) on the top your gear and I think you will have a special card (credit card size) that will allow you to lock or unlock the vehicle b touching the handle.

Hope this helps..

Why did you post this in the E55 section!

Keyless Go was never an option on the W210 E-Class models. That is only available for the New E-Class W211 cars (2003+). For that kind of information you should go to www.MBUSA.com.

I posted this on the E55 site because I am getting an E55 and I wanted to understand exatcly what Keyless go was. Sorry I posted it. My E430 comment was only to ask how this compared to the IR key that my E430 has

Sorry, the way you phrased your original post I thought you were referring solely to your E430.

When is your E55 due? What color and other options are you getting. thanks.
