Need E55 advice
I am in the market for a 2001 E55. Does anyone have any experience with Canadian cars? How much less should a Canadian car sell for, considering the resale value is less?
If you drive normal, what should I get for mileage on the highway?
Any other items to look for?

Canadian cars under factory warranty are not honored by US dealers. Car is considered 'grey market'. Also see this thread:

Interestingly, you can have US car service at Canadian dealer and covered under warranty. I have my cars serviced in Toronto MB dealer on Dundas St. east/ DVP numerous times.

Canadian cars
I have personally sold a Canadian car to a good friend in the US and he has absolutely no problems with warranty work from California MB dealers.
He told me it's a rumor started by the USA MB dealers wanting to discourage losing the business to their northern counterparts.
When purchasing highly desirable cars in Canada however (i.e. AMG models or SL), buyers are requested to sign a non-export agreement that they will not sell the car within the first year (or more of ownership) to anyone in the US..
Canadian MB 'dealers', wholely owned by MB Canada are in fact factory stores and will lose their allocation if they are caught selling cars to the US.
My friend also had no problems registering his Canadian car in California.

I have imported a couple of Mercedes from Canada. I have never had a problem with warrant service. The only difference has been the "service" included on US car is not available on Canadian cars. The Canadian cars (at least my ML) do have a extra year of drive train coverage (a 5th year) not available on US cars...
