Traction Control on OLD E55
After getting my coffee from starbucks, I wanted to roll down my windows for a smoke. As usually I hit the traction controll button. But this time I didn't see the Triangle on my dash indicating it was disabled. Instead on the lower left of my dash it said TCS or EDS or something.. I can't remember, it was early and I was still trying to wake up. Anyways I thought something was defective with my car, so I hit the reset button and it changed to ASC or something. I turned off my car and it went away and I can not recreate this problem or feature.
So I guess my question is
1. What they hell is that.
2. Is that a feature. Can I switch to different mode like one mode would be for controlling wheel spin and the other is for hmm I don't know so I don't fish tail?

Weird, never seen it, but I suggest taking a look at your manual.
As far as I know you can't select the level of ESP off. And with the ESP off you can sure do controlled spin, I've done it in a straight line (all first gear), if you start turning it just cuts you off, I hate it because I can't do donuts or 180 deg turns.
