Trunk lid lights..

Back in winter I had my trunk lid replace, wifey backed into my truck. Anyways I had it replaced and have driven the car a couple times since then. I noticed over the weekend that the right side lid light was out so I pop the trunk and the blue bulb socket thingy was gone. Today I went by the dealer, bought one, installed with new bulbs but the light doesn't come on. I switch the left with right (blue bits) and it still didn't work. However the reverse lights work. What I noticed looking at the lights is that they differ; the one that works fits flush in the lid, and the other has a gap. I've attached a couple pics..

If anyone has time could they look from the side at their lights and see if the look the same. The one that's not working sure doesn't look original.

One is illuminated when you turn your fogs on. The other does not work.

whoever replaced it replaced it with a depo unit. the depo unit has a hole for a socket in the passenger side light for rear fog.
