'88 560SEC, '94 E320 Cab, '95 SL320 AMG, '96 SL500 AMG
New member, 'new' E55
Hi all,
Been lurking for a long while throughout my year + plan to buy my first AMG, the w210 E55. Finally bought and picked up the car yesterday. It is a friend-owned car. It is a 1998 and with very low miles (31,000km (we measure by kilometers in Hong Kong)). Car has been very well taken care of.
Planning to do the exhaust system, brakes, bilstein+H&R suspension setup and AMS stage 2 kit in the coming year.

Are those CL65 gunmetal knock off rims? PLEASE get some rim and side shot pics....have always thought about getting some for my black E55...may be purchasing a CL55 in the next year, would like to throw some on it if I buy it..

Congrats on the new ride .. looks clean ..
Does that emblem say Avantgarde on the moulding . Did the 98-99 come with drilled rotors or are those aftermarket , including those rotors? mine look differnt .. Those wheels are replicasbut i could be mistaken. usually they would say AMG on the faces of them . Not cl65 gunmetals forsure . I had same ones were tsw bremmas . always wondered what they would look like in black .. Now i regret selling them lol

Yes those wheels should be Taiwanese knockoffs. Preferred the oem 18"'s to be honest but the owner wrapped a brand new set of Continental SportContact 5p on it shortly before selling it to me so no complains
(the closeup pic of the wheel which shows Goodyear tyres were taken last year, owner is a friend).I believe the rotors are aftermarket.
Your car looks nice, I would rather my rims be silver than black too. Are those 18s or 19s? They are 19s on mine.

Pretty cool car. I'm sure the pre-owner change the wheels cause the new calipers don't clear the oem Aero II, is thet the oem C32/C55 brake set-up, but what about rears? are the oem E55 brakes?

Congrats on a beautiful joy mate! 
pretty clean, really. if the car is mine i only change one visual: i would remove the splash shields for the rear tires, never like it in a sporty style of the E55's (IMO) just my guess

keep the brakes u got now they look great .. my rims are oem blacked out not the ones like in the pic . i sold those. I'd rock those rims on yours in a heartbeat and 19's are nice . what size tires u runnin on it . prob lose the rear mud guard also have to see in person tho .
The right side drive is killin me .. ppl would go nuts if they seen that shyt here OMG FML ..

Thanks, as said, thinking of front 6 rear 4 pistons AMG eventually, but not now, got to save up first!

Was told the race exhaust is only 4 db louder than the sport one. Have no idea what that means but doesn't sound much?
