Tires - What are you running?
Alright it's about time for a new set of rears. What are you guys running and what do you recommend?
I've got Eagle F1 A/S on there right now. They're ok and at 19,000 miles they are toast.
Has anyone run the BFG g-Force T/A's?
Remember; I live in AZ and we rarely get rain. There is no snow. I commute 65 miles round-trip every day and I'm not that aggressive, just looking for a good deal on tires that will get me 20,000 miles.

I was lucky that my car's previous owner installed a set of brand spanking new ContiSportContact 5p's on it which is supposed to be better than Michelin PS2's. I like it so far and its great in the rain (note that it doesn't rain where you live). They are not the cheapest though from what I understand.
My experience says Hankook are pretty good bang for the buck tyres and they wear okay. Not sure about the 20k mark though.

I'm running RE050A pole position and very happy with traction sens, 245/35 & 285/30 on factory Aero II
Some people sayd me the new S001 are sooo hoooottt!!
I drive a 996 TecArt tuned with the BF Gforce
T/A's on 19" and i like it really like it. But can't smell water :S lost all traction at wet roads (pretty bad quality asphalt here too)

Mine had Dunlops when I got it, went to Yokos and the last set put Conti Extreme DWS. I live in the South so we get rain and do get ice/snow on occasion. I've been on the road a lot this past year and after only 15 months need to replace rears - after 26k miles - yes 26k. Fronts are still good for another 5 probably. I do drive "fast" I just don't jack-rabbit start or anything like that. The Contis saved me from a near-miss MAJOR rear-end accident - would have been my fault - a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, they've been on national backorder for some weeks

Comp TA KDW
BFG Comp TA KDW they look good, stick like glue in the wet and dry and are very inexpensive....I am on my second set and I would not use any other tire....the only complaint some may have is road noise but its a moot point with my ride.....you could never hear the tires over the exhaust

Tires
When I bought mine it has the Coni Sport Contacts and there are very good in the wet and ride great with minimal noise. with that much traction on the rear you need soem tires.

Funny enough I called MB today and they FINALLY have Conti Extreme Contact DWS rears available. They want $25 more a tire than Tire Rack, but after shipping and all the other hassles of install, I find it's worth the extra. Plus if something happens out on the road you just hit the call button and they come running. I have been very happy with my Contis and didn't want to have to put something else on.

on the '99 I have Michelin SP2...which I love.
On the '00 we just bought he has mixed tires. Pirelli's on the back at about 50% and new Yokahama off brand Mirada GTX's on the front. To be honest...it is not too bad. I might just go with Mirada's on the back when the Pirelli's go.

I went from the stock euro 235 and 265 combo to the US spec 245/40 and 275/35.
Got a great deal on the discontinued line of Good Year Eagle GSD3's. Seem to grip really well and quiet so far. They do not rub on the front upper ball joint nut as others who've had GSD3's may report.
The 280 wear rating appealed to me - it's hard in europe to find all season tyres with higher ratings, so the eagles were pretty much the best I could get in the summer tyre range.

Fabio D - Do you have a picture of your car with the 285/40/18 rears? Must look very "squady"....if you don't mind, would definately like to look at a picture. These are the size for the porsche 911 carrera.
