My '99 E55 feels a bit floaty & I think it is time to upgrade the suspension. I do not want the slammed look...but a little lower would be nice. I use the car as a daily driver and it needs to maintain a luxury smooth ride. Here is what I think I am needing.
  • H&R Sport Springs
  • Bilstien Sport Shocks
  • A Rear Camber Kit like Ghostrider sells
  • #2 shims in the front
I know there are other choices on brands...but am I on the right track? Is this all I need to plan on?

you're probably going to want #1 pads in the front as the H&R springs sit pretty high for some reason. You're also probably going to need a front oem camber bolts to bring it back within range.

The camber bolts that are already on the front won't work?

There are extended ones from factory if the ones that came on your car max out. It's pretty easy to max them out though.

Bilsteins??? really? over the AMG shocks.

I'm not sure why you would want to replace the $250 AMG shocks with the cheapo creapo $95 bilsteins. please explain this phenomenon to me.

I was under the impression that, if you went with lower springs, you would have to change the shocks to a sport shock - or they would bottom out.

I am shifting direction and just ordered OEM Euro Spec Springs from Gert at Carnewal ($555 shipped) and #1 shims. I will try this on the '99.
