Good price to get wheels straightened / powder coated?

I went by a local wheel place after work yesterday (Rite Way Wire & Wheel in Walnut Creek) to see about getting my 19" Brabus Monoblock V's re-done. The owner quoted me $175 per wheel to straighten them, remove all the curb rash, powder coat the centers (either matte or gloss black, haven't decided), polish the lips and mount/balance the tires. He also has black center caps with a chrome MB star that he'd give me as well.

$175 per wheel seems like a pretty good price to me since they need a lot of work, he'd take them apart to do it and said they could have them done in 2 days (still have my stock wheels so that's not an issue). The shop has great reviews on Yelp and my mechanic, who is a good friend of mine, recommends them as well.

What do you guys think? I've never had anything like this done before so I don't know what the going rate is. The only thing I have to base this off of is another friend told me to contact his PC guy. He wanted $120 per wheel just to powdercoat them black with a silver PC'd lip (said he'd only mask them).

i say that a steal .. after reviewing some of my previous owners reciepts i notice that he had the oem monoblocks , repaired , and powdercoated for $600 and paid $500 to polish the lips . Didnt realize till then that the wheels had just silver lips or claearcoated not sure .. But i say go for it . if he going to repair , polish , powdercoat, and throw in set of caps ..not bad deal if you ask me ..
I paid $300 just to powdercoat 2 motorcycle rims , and i had to pull bearings <trashed> buy new ones and pay to get tires installed ..Your gettin a heck of a deal if you asked me .. Seems like he doing more work then is worth it to him .

what the hell. I went to rite-way and the guy quoted me a max of $250 per wheel to straighten the wheel and repolish the outside lip. But he told me to make an appointment and he can do all of my wheels in one day flat.

Sounds like it might be one of those places where the price depends on his mood.

Just curious, but where are you in the Bay Area?

I live in San Francisco, but I'm usually around San Mateo for school and work.

could also be related to how much work needs to be done, type of wheel, or even how much work he's gotten lately. Busy, price goes up... And he was offering one day turn around for you.

It's going to be awhile before I get this done now. I had to take care of some stuff and want to let my bank account recover a bit. I'm kind of curious to see if he'll hold to the quote even if it's a few months from now.
