What Size is it??

I am trying to find out the size of the E55 front sway bar. Anybody know? The standard E430 and E320 is 28mm. Is the E55 at 30mm? I have called two dealerships and both have no info.

I believe OEM is 28mm front; 18mm rear. Aftermarket is commonly 30mm front; 20mm rear

Is there any real benefit to the slightly larger aftermarket sway bars?

Doubtful. If there is, I believe most of us would have applied them by now.

Anybody know for certain? Are you saying the E55 front bar is the same as the E320 and E430 part? That does not make sense. Can anyone take an actual measurement? I know the the Brabus bar is a 30mm unit. Would really like to know. Thanks all.

i'm pretty sure the AMG bar is not te same as the E320 - E430 visually inspected in many cars in owr workshop and for sure the E55 is larger than the others

The e55 bars are also solid while the E320 and E430 bars are hollow.

And, Brabus is aftermarket.

Another example of aftermarket is H&R. As per site:

H&R Front Sway Bar Mercedes-Benz E300D / E320 / E320T / E420 / E430 / E55 AMG 1996-2002

H&R Sway Bars is a direct replacement of your factory sway bars and are drastically thicker than the stock bars. ...

Models Included W210
Bar Diameter 30mm

Thus, OEM is less than 30mm. Or, shall we say: 28mm front; 18mm rear.
