I just saw that TireRack did a new test of 'value priced' max performance summer tires.

Its kinda odd. I've been recommending the Ventus V12 based on the 2009 Car and Driver test (in which it placed 2nd out of 9 tires). In the new Tirerack test, it placed last out of 4 tires. What gives? Has Hankook changed the quality of the V12 or has the competition advanced? Not sure, but either way, I guess the Sumitomo HTR ZIII should be recommended as well.

I run them low here in Florida because the roads are flat and straght. In a hilly place like N. Alabama or Georgia, I run higher pressures. it really matters what kind of driving you are doing IMO.
For what it is worth, i think I will be trying a set of Hankooks V12s on my '99 when my current tires run out.
