None of my brake lights are working :(

Hey all,

My name is Joe and I am new here to the forum. I have an 1999 E55 AMG, Black exterior with black and white leather interior, non nav. I noticed the past couple of days while driving that none of my brake lights are working at all. I stopped driving the car and thought it would be the fuse. After I checked the fuse box, the #2 fuse was blown (brake light fuse) so I replaced the fuse. Immediately after turning the car on and stepping on the brakes, the brake lights still didn't work and the fuse blew again. I searched a little and thought maybe it could be the brake light switch? Also, all the brake light signals are on on the dash, light the ABS and ESP lights and such.

Also, I bought the face lift '02 E55 tail lights off ebay and they have always given me problems. The brake lights stop working all the time but the middle brake light always works (the one inside the car behind the back seats). This is the first time that none of the brake lights aren't working though. I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

if you look at the plates where you insert the brake light bulb could be they are broken off the connections and arnt gettin any current through the place to power the bulbs .. might not be but worth checking out as i know one of my brake lights dont work because of that issue

I ended up putting the stock tail lights back in and replaced the fuse and everything works fine. If anyone is thinking about buying the smoked out face lift tails off eBay...DON'T! They suck!
