Less boost, more power!? *And 2 videos*
I went back to the stock S/C pulley (71mm 0,4 bar) and maybe lost a few NM in the midrange compared to the smaller custom made pulley (64mm 0,6 bar). But now the engine feels much more balanced and pulls all the way to the rev limiter. Guess those ported heads helps out a bit there.
With the smaller pulley the car had an amazing torque in the midrange, but after 2-3 pulls the car felt like it lost power due to a massive heat increase from the S/C beeing spun faster! Even with all my cooling mods, it just could't keep the heat down.
Next year i'm going to dyno the car to see how much power it makes with the bigger 71mm pulley and all the mods.
2 videos in HD if you like.

Abalone , great great work and beautiful car ..
Can you remind me please , did you end up with the Eaton type or twin screw supercharger from Kleemann ? I know you ran into some trouble , but obviously for the better since youve got a beast on your hands, congrats.Great work .

Maxwerks --> It's a Eaton blower with ported inlet. Runs pretty well now for beeing so little boost. I'm not even sure it makes 0,4 bar with my ported heads, hehe! Could be 0,3 bar too

Yes I am considering it , my E55 has been pretty much garaged for a while ,came close few times to go with the Kleemann SC but other obligations ( mainly family , always ruled .. so I bought the R350 and it has been the work horse , besides my SL...now I am bringing the E back , finished my Brembos, seriously considering the KW then I guess to SC or not to SC THAT is the question ! I have the Kleemann Headers, downpipes , race cats , Quaife LSD,
all ready to go on.

I know how popular drag racing your car is in USA. But if you are about to drive the car like i did, alot of towns, rolls, lots of WOT pulls in the summer heat with the S/C, the temps will get sooo much hotter then if it where all N/A and you will loose some of the power since it's a top mounted S/C system with air to water cooled IC system.
And last, the pistons are not forged on our W210 E55. So they are IMO not so good for boosted setups. Not saying they will break first thing, but myself and a few others i know went down the sad way of broken pistons due to knocks and to much heat.

boost numbers
my car made 5 pounds of boost with the stock pulley(2.8 inch) i now have a 2.6 inch pulley and it makes 7 pounds of boost. maybe my belt is slipping?

Look for rubber rests around the S/C pulley and the axle that goes in to the S/C. I had lot's of rubber there with my 2.5" pulley. Must be some serious belt slip.
