Recent maintenance work: at 40K new front brakes (ceramic pads & rotors), front struts (bilstiens) & springs, B service (plugs, etc), K&N air filters, stored winters.
I'm asking $22,900.00 and the car is located in northern New Jersey.

Unfortunately, premium cars have giant depreciation which outstrips their intrinsic value (e.g., for the price of this car I could buy a brand new, entry level, Honda Accord). The imaginative man would balance intrinsic value with desire. If some one desires the car to sufficient extent, then there's the sale.
Let's not crap on each other about what our cars our worth. As far as I'm concerned I'm stepping into a real winner every time I engage my '99 E55 for a tactile driving experience. What's it worth? There's the rub . . . but don't rub my nose in it.

Oh, and don't forget that most Porsches of that era priced out higher than the E55.
Fortunately you all helped me (quickly) come back to reality, I'm going to try and bring the price down a little and see.. I'm going to bring it down to $21,500 and see what happens..
