2001 E55 Denver CO - buying advice
Hi guys,
I am interested in 2001 E55 and found one in Denver that I like (I live in Ca bay area), but only seeing from the pictures. Any advice buying from out of state car? Is there any members out there in Denver that is willing to check it out? Thanks for reading.

Just wondering, if I am not mistaken, you bought your E55 from out of state? How did it go? Did you ever see the car before you bought it or you had someone checked the car on your behalf? Did you get any PPI done prior to purchase it? I am thinking of doing that but not sure since no one has checked the car yet, and currently have no time to personaly be there to check it myself. Thanks...

1. roads are sanded & graveled all winter long. If it was a daily driver, the paint & windshield will show lots of wear. But, clear bras are common there too.
2. In the winter, Denver used Mag Choride on the road as a deicer. It's hell on bright finishes such as chrome.
But, it's a dry climate, so rush is only on issue for people that don't keep their cards clean when possible in the winter months, liberally flushing the fender wells & undercarriage with fresh water.

I bought mine from 3 states over.
My advice: Find someone local who you trust to have a look at the car and take it for a short drive. A friend or relative, even an internet forum buddy, just somebody who you know will provide accurate info. Have them do a quick check and report back. If they think the car is decent, then send it for PPI. Try to find out if service records are available as well. Ask for as many detailed photos as possible. All for tires closeup, all four wheels, closeup of bumpers, windshield, etc. You don't want to be disappointed when you show up to get the car.
Finally, yes, by all means, fly in to pick up the car. Don't have it transported.
If you fly in and see the car and for some reason hate it, you can always catch a standby flight back and have the bank check voided and only be out a few hundred in flight costs vs being stuck with a car you don't like.

I think i bought this car. I didnt see it in person yet but it looks great and only has 46K miles on it. They tell me it is in great shape and it looks so. I should get the car around the 20th - it is being shipped. I was in no way going to drive it to Boston from Denver.

hey!
Sorry i have been slacking with the pictures! I will post soon! I need to take some good shots of the W212 E63 and the W210 E55 side by side.
Overall, I am happy. The car is solid mechanically. The only thing that really bothers me is the pixels being out! I need to get this fixed but am scared to remove my cluster and send away to someone. If only someone locally could fix the pixels so I wouldnt have to send it out!
