SWAPPED 20's back to OEM now rides like crap
As I stated in title .. Ive had my 20's on for couple months maybe put less then 3k miles with the 20's on . Put my OEM's back on for the winter and the whole car feels off on everything , steering , the ride , wheels feel all wobbly , after 40-50 my cruise control doesnt work on highway speeds . Im wonderinging could the 20's have done anything to affect the ride , maybe thrown my allignment off wack . Tires that had a little bit wear on insides so i flipped them around , wondering maybe that might be affecting but when i installed them before putting on the 20's i didnt have this issue also when let go of steering wheel car veers to the right pretty quick . Wondering if i need new tires or just an alignment ..

First , I am a believer that this car was never meant to have 20s on it , not only because I feel they dont look right ( no offense ) , I know several people will disagree with me ... but I do think that 20s will put a big toll on the suspension components , the 20 correct size tire in the rear is 25 aspect ratio ...there is a reason why MB never had ANY car with a 25 tire.
But it sounds like you didnt ride on the 20s for long to warrant that kind of effect . So did you have the car aligned based on the 20s when you installed them? If you did , then I assure you you have to do it again with the stockers ...are the stocker the OEM Monoblocks or ? Also , did you by any chance have spacers on either set of wheels and maybe you forgot them on with the replacement wheels ( I know it is silly but who knows )

the lack of cruise control usually indicates something is up with the dimensions of your rims/tires (i.e. having 1 spare on, tire sizes don't match, etc...) You may need new tires but I agree with the above statement about getting an alignment if you had one done on the 20" rims, get another one done with the stockers

thanks guys ..
When i installed the 20's there was no alignment done , the car drove perfect , didnt pull to any side , cruise worked and so on , I went late lastnight to a gas station and was messing around with the tire pressure and set them to 42 rear and 36 front .. jumped on the freeway and still the ride doesnt feel the way it use to but atleast the cruise worked at around 75-80 . So now im leanin towards tires and possibly an alignment afterwards . hopefully thats all it is and also yes I was installed the OEM monoblocks back on
Max, I totally understand what you mean when you say that 20's were not meant for this car and one of my biggest fears when installing them was messing up something important in the suspension area of car but everything seems fine so far . If new tires or alignment dont help then I will send it in for service to get it checked out .
