E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
I can't remember...

If I saw that car on a trader or ove, but that cluster is toast. If u want to get the conductor board from mb, it's going to run you about a grand. There ae other vendors who rebuild them for far less. No,you cannot buy that knob alone, switch only.if you guys haven't checked on some parts lately, you're going to be shocked at how much parts for these older cars have gone up, some over FORTY percent. Better ask them if they have any more keys too--they have nearly doubled in price. This is another reason for the falling, not rising, prices in these cars. Do take note on how many of these cars are still sitting while being for sale for weeks and months.
I guess you can also see that you have a curbed wheel that needs repair. Where there is one, there is more. Neat color combo tho.

I don't race it at all. In the past 8 months already clay bar 3 times, wash 5 times and always garaged. ( In California specially my area, car don't get dirty fast) Here again, welcome to W210 AMG !

Thank you! It's more a welcome back. :-)

Yes you guys are correct about the cluster. I got a "it works ok" via email then called and they explained it works but it is very light in many areas but still readable. They dropped the dealer fee of $300 in light of this. So I'm happy. Didn't know this was a problem with the 210s. Never had that issue on my previous 2000 e55. In any case, I can live with that.

I missed this forum. So many more responsive members. I post in the 212 AMG section and wait days for a darn reply! You guys rock. Thanks for the help!!

Also, the mirrors do both work and it is just the knob. Stinks it can't be replaced separately! Minor issue I guess. I can live with that too. Again, thank you for pointing this out.

I honestly feel like I got a good deal for $15k out the door. The dealership seems reputable. I researched them and people had good things to say. 46K miles. Such a baby still. I'll be putting some good miles on her soon!

Yes two of the wheels are curb rashed. I'm ok with that. I change wheels often. I had 3 different pairs of wheels on my 2005 E55 in the course of 4 years.

I'm not on a budget and can afford if anythin big fails but I don't expect that. My 2000 e55 was the most solid Benz I've owned. Along with my 1996 E320. Also a 210. I'm a big believer in the rock solid reliability of the 210 cars. I maintain my cars well and these cars last if you do what is required for service.

Question - I see instrument clusters on eBay. They go for $250-350. If replaced, is the mileage reading still accurate? I see one for a 2000-2002 e class that says it is perfect with all pixels working. Non-AMG so it doesn't say AMG but the pixels all work. Will my mileage carry over accurately? How much to get this installed? Anyone do that here?

Look for the guys...

That do the refurb on them. I think it's about 350....I'd have to dig out some invoices to confirm. They also warranty it for 2 years instead of mb's one...

The missing pixels on the cluster are repairable. I've done quite a few of them already.

Congrats on the car, I think that's a very rare color combo, I don't recall seeing a tectite car with a two tone interior.

About the pixels, I don't know the details, but my car had a few bad ones at 27K miles when I bought it, luckily a warranty covered it as it bugged me. My front bumper also seems susceptible to rock chips, maybe a weakness with the color.

My front bumper looks like complete ****. My car has been repainted at some point though so it's not MB paint AFAIK. I really just want to paint the whole car but don't feel like spending a couple thousand to do it (friend works at a customs shop).

Late edit (roommate got home and we started bs'ing):

You can see about half the chips in this pic, the crack by the left fog light and the ding by the left headlight.

Thank you! I am going to see about getting the pixels fixed.

As far as the front bumper of these cars getting beat up, it is common. I had a plastic clear bra on my previous W210 E55 and it worked wonders. Back then, my car was worth $50K and it was worth spending $650 to do. It probably still is worth it but I am debating on if I want to get one installed or not.

I should have the car in 1-2 weeks. Shipping takes a few days since it is in CO and I am in Boston.

I am excited. This will be my daily driver and the E63 will be my weekend car for the most part.
