Does it make sense to have the dealer install new tires?
I'm about to take my 2001 E55 into Heinz Gietz in La Jolla. People on the board here have spoken highly of Dieter Gietz. My car needs:
Oil change
Transmission flush (full service)
"Engine Oil Level Too High" sensor replaced
New Tires
Since I need new tires, does it make sense to buy tires on-line (Hankook Ventus V12s) and have them shipped to Heinz Gietz so they can put them on? My thinking is that I'd rather have a specialized place like HG put them on (who understands how the wheels need to be balanced, aligned, etc.) rather than a cheapy "discount tire" type place who may not be as careful.
Please give me your opinions on this - and your reason(s) why.
Thank you

I've always ordered the tires online and just taken them to a tire shop to have them put on. I had new ones put on last week at America's Tire and it ended up costing $128. They're just right around the corner from my work so I use them most of the time.

Find an Indy. The dealers I checked with won't do a "flush". The Merc service is only a pan drop. 3 liters max. Do some checking on here and benzworld.org. Changing the trans fluid can have serious repercussions if not done right.
