After A Major Service... Royal Purple users, come in!

So after a pretty major service and almost a thousand miles later... few things I noticed.

- Bosch Plat 4's are CRAP, my slight misfire disappeared after switching to NGK IX's.
- The Bilstein B4's are too soft... anyone know if Bilstein makes a B6 shock for our front shocks? I had the shocks installed per Heindrich thread and the rears are B6's, with the fronts being B4's.
- And for everyone who uses Royal Purple, I'll let the picture do the talking. Not only did I replace gaskets... I also replaced the valve cover from warpage. My first time hearing a M113 valve cover being warped. My engine has 97k miles on it, with 7-8k mile oil changes.

They usually turn a goldish brown color, So i'm not sure what you are implying what the purple did or is good?

I'm pretty sure the pic you post on the CLEEEAAAANNN internall engine not has more than 50kmilles and maybe ussing Motul :S i only see aluminium colored engines with motul motoroil. but this engine looks like new! (maybe this pic are taken when change the rocker/lifter mount by the common ticking noise)

My engine looks exelent clean ussing mobil 1 every 8k but the rockers/valvetrain looks bright yellowish colored

You know who is the owner of the pic to ask about?

This looks correct - if I was the OP I would consider emailing Royal Purple this photo and ask them if this is normal ?

I highly doubt this is normal... I am definitely going to switch over to Mobil 1 after this.

That's how mine looked at 100k+ when we swapped valve cover gaskets.

When i did my valve cover gaskets at 125k it was nice and clean inside. I've used royal purple before. Between 5 friends and I that all have tried royal purple, all of us has experienced some sort of oil burning. I will never touch another royal purple product again.

What do you currently use? And what are the consequences of continued use of RP, if anyone knows?

I'm currently using Motul x-cess 8100 5w-40 this past oil change. The previous two times I used Amsoil European formula 5w-40. I change my oil every 7000-7500 miles.

I never liked RP because it always gave me a weird feeling. The engine on my previous car felt slightly rougher when I used RP, not to mention burned some in the 3000mi. oil change interval. I just have a hunch that it doesn't lubricate as well as other oils.

I'll probably use something that's MB recommended next time... if not, I'll just use Mobil 1.
