Key beeping

Hey all,

How do I remove/disable/destroy/maim/kill/demolish/etc the d***ed beep beep beep when the key is in? It's obviously a speaker somewhere. One of the tweeters? Part of the Panic button on the roof? Can I do it through the MB diagnostic scanner at my shop?

Thanks!
Ricky

I think (but not 100% sure in the w210 model) you need to press the "R" button or "O" in the instrument cluster to disable the beeper (w211 and newer are like this) but just dissable the beeper momentanly. you need to press the button all the time when you stay the key in to dissable it.

The beeper are located inside the cluster (is the same beeper to remember you when you stay the lights on)

Thank you! I will go buy another cluster to mess around with.

Now that we are on the topic of instrument clusters... did AMG make a KPH only speedo for the '02 E55s, or were they are dual MPH/KPH?

Remove lower drive side cover panel, below the steering column. I remember disconnecting something going to the panel by accident when I was hard wiring my V1 and Blinder.

AMG makes the dual mode clusters (Euro spec comes in KPH only, and the US spec/canadian comes with KPH/MPH version)

I find one in kph/mph for 2002 at ebay:

But you don't need to buy a new one, you can open your own cluster and just cut the wire of the buzzer (but you will lose the beep beep beep sound when you stay the lights on) be carefull!
