Anyone seen this drivetran problem ?? need help !!
Dear All, I got a 2001 E55 with 105k miles on it, about 2 or 3 week ago, every time when I punch the car with full throttle and then release the gas paddle quickly and then I can hear/feel a loud "clunk" sound from some where under the car ! It happen to start from stop or 60 mph on the free way. but if I slowly release the gas paddle then is OK, the transmission shift normal. I have also try to slowly speed up and then quickly release the gas paddle, it also drive normally.
So it sounds like only the car under the heavily load and then I let the throttle off quickly and I can hear/feel a loud "clunk" sound !
Anyone know whats wrong with my car ?????
Thanks in advance !! Time to get my credit card out !

Probably and engine mount.
Open the hood. With the e-brake on, start the car. With your left foot on the brake firmly, shift into Drive. Very slowly apply the throttle with your right foot to load the engine. It won't take that much RPM, maybe 1500 to 2000. Have a friend stand on the side of the car by the left fender and watch the engine. If you get a significant amount or engine lift on the left side the engine mount is the culprit.
Be careful doing this and make sure there is no one and nothing in front of the car 'just in case'. If you don't feel comfortable doing this kind of test the by all means don't do it! Seriously, be careful!
