Where to start? The Italians or the Germans?
Reflectors

Anybody have a source for the front bumper trim pieces that do not have the orange reflectors? I found them on Ebay.de and UK, but nobody is willing to ship here. I would rather just buy the pieces than have to get my pieces smoothed over with body filler. I will avoid the light out warning by just securing the lights up under the bumper wrapped in duct tape (unless I can trick the car into thinking they are still functional a la Sparco's trick for steering wheel air bags).

Anyway, here's what I'm talking about:

With reflectors:

Without:

What do you think? Just filling over mine seems to be the easiest option at this point.

I see some cars with the reflectors painted/match the car color and looks so good you would try painting yours before the body filler process

take care the chrome stripe in the euro versions (second pic you post) is larger than the US spec with the reflector, if you use boddy filled material and then paint the piece the chrome stripe would look smaller

I actually saw a car like that:

It is a fantastic looking car, except for those blasted reflectors. Just a pet-peeve of mine. I rip those things off all my cars; however, the E55 is proving to be rather difficult.

I'm sure a lot of people both on the regular 210 section, and here would love to have a way to delete the side markers. Right? Especially if there was a way to remove the light bulbs, but avoid having the warning light on the dash. I don't think it can be that hard....

Yeah thats what i'm talking about, i think painted looks good, if you use some bondo to smooth the reflectors to the trim piece also looks good but the chrome stripe would looks smaller than the trim piece

Great catch! I never even noticed that. In that case, I'll have to just keep searching for the euro piece.

Sounds like Tony, at this website, may be able to source them. I have several emails sent out. Hopefully one of these will come through...

My car came with them painted over body color. I guess the previous owner hated them too.

I agree with you 110% I painted mine and I'm pretty content. Here is a link of mine before LED city citys, LED lic. plate and LED fog lights and I have since then re-installed OEM front grill vs star grill.

Who doesn't?

Why do we get stuck having these things on our cars?

I don't mind the look of the white side markers (to each their own) - They give the car a more contemporary look with minimum work - just converted my amber side marker covers to the white side marker covers with chrome coated amber bulbs, so you cannot see the bulb through the white lens, but show amber when switched on. Total cost of mod $25.00.

That all being said, if I could find two euro covers for the side markers I would buy a pair and give them a try. I recently replaced my entire front bumper and left the license plate holder off, car looks so much better with a clean bumper.
