E55 Main Catalytic Converter replace
I'm getting the common "cat rattle" from the main passenger side. I've searched and searched and can't seem to find the replacement Magnaflow or Random Technologies. I'm looking for someone that has gone that route and what issues, if any, they had cutting and welding it in. I'm not in CA so a non-CA is preferred.

Out Of Control!
Been there done that route. Am in CA. Using Random. It's been a while but i don't remember Random posting their part # for our application online so you'll probably have to call it in. Had the boys at Denver installed it so no issues.

Thanks. I'll give them a call -they are local. I've seen people say the pipes are anywhere from 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 on the W210 E55... I was surprised that I couldn't easily find the models that work on the E55 as well as other technical information. Just alot of "i think", "it should be about", "it may work"...lol

If I were you, I would take the oppurtunity to replace the 2nd cats with the x-pipe. You can get them on eBay too. I replace mine with the resonator before I thought about taking the cats out so my muffler guy told me just leave the x-pipe where it was originally done.
The original pipes are about 2.25 in but the muffler shop would be able to enlarge it a little to accomodate the 2.5 in and it will fit like a glove.
BTW, I sold my cats back out on eBay and got $150 for them so that offset my new pipes and labor

Measure the lenght and go on line to get the pipes. They are not expensive but I would get the stainless steel ones. Hope that helps.
