Hey guys! I am new here, I just purchased a 99 E55.
I will be picking the car up next week from Miami, It is white with black leather w/52K miles and will have warranty until I hit 100K miles. The car is stock except for the 19" Lorinser LM1's. I will be leaving the car the way it is for now until I get used to it, but will most likely do some upgrades. My last 2 cars were a ighly modded TT Supra and a highly modded 2000 S4 which I still have. I was wanting to know what mods are available and average prices for the mods and installation plus what type of performance I can expect from each upgrade I do? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks guys!

Hy, congrats! It's suprising you went from toyota to audi to mercedes. I myself is a huge german car lover, my brother has a supra as well, with some stupid T-88 turbo crap but what ever. but congrats and you'll like it alot.

What do you guys think a fair price for this vehicle might be. I'll wait and see what you would feel its worth, and then i'll decide if I got a good deal or not. I'm crossing my fingers!

Congrats on your 99 E55. Power upgrades are expensive for E55. Kleemann supercharger is $16,995 (550HP) plus $2k install. Renntech Hi-Boost AMG Supercharger upgrade is $37,800, whoa!. Taking the car to 530HP. Of course you lose you Starmarked warranty.
For $4195 the Renntech Performance Package 2 takes E55 to 380HP. You get ECU upgrade, Carbon Fiber Air Box and Sport Muffler.

As far as mods, well, they are expensive for what you are used to pay on the Supra and the S4 and gains don't go in the same $/HP ratio!
Easiest things you can do are K&N air filters, chip, pulleys and insulate the bottom of the airbox yourself.

can you please give me some details on insulating the airbox, also some sources and prices for the chip, K&N filter, and the pulleys, also is the pulley something I can do myself or will I have to take it somewhere? I'll post pics next week. Thanks guys.

There is a thread shoing the advantages of the airbox insulation, here is a pic of mine, I used thermotec insulating blanket (non self adhesive).
As far as chips, we still haven't determined which is the best (renntech, upsolute, kleeman, etc) to go but they go from 450.00 to 2300.00!
K&N filters can be bought at about $48.00 each from www.performanceproducts.com
I'd suggest making a search here and the performance threads.
Mach430 can hook you up with the pulleys for 450-500 don't remember price.
