Cold and hot start problems
I have 2004 E55 AMG and the car start to have a problem with starting in cold or hot weather. This had happen for 6 month and sunddenlt its not start any more and the car is been sitting in my drive now. I had read many threads and most most of them saying that its can be Crankshift position senor, Fuel pump relay, Fuel Pump, Fuel filter.
Here's what i have tested so far:
1. Check spark plug and se if it spark. Yes have spark.
2. Check fuel line and no fuel come from the gas tank.
Anyone know where and how to check fuel pump and relay?
Please advise, Thanks

eThe fuel pump would start by a few seconds when you set the key in to position 2, then turn of. when you start the car the pump should start again.
Change your CPS if the pump works good. We experimment some problems with the "Camshaft" position sensor too in this engines with the same starting problem. Make sure your Camshaft position sensor is good via DAS diagnostic. Most common faulty sensor is the "Crank" position sensor, but the campshaft sensor would get you the same issue

updates;
run 12v straigh to the fuel pump and engine start fine.
must be crank position sensor?
But i notice that when i test the power to fuel pump the the power won't stay ON when i start the engine any idea?
and is very low voltage on fuel pump wire and with that much voltage it will not power or make the fuel pump run.
Any idea? i'm think the relay?

You mentioned that the fuel pump would be "ON" when you start the car.
Here's how mine:
Its seem like very low voltage was on the fuel pump wire so the fuel pump won't run, but jump wire straight to the pump the pump fine.
do you happen know where the fuel pump relay at?

Yes mate, the fuel pump relay is in the trunk fusebox (SAM), try changing the relay first and test it again, if the problem persist i think you need a new SAM unit. is an electronic component and chec if you no have any signs of water in the module/relays/metal parts, my father's car (2005 e55) have an issue with the rear tails and i find a water leak by the trunk rubber, the module gets water inside and fail, just check and let me know. Hope you solve the problem replacing just the relay bro!

The fuel pump should prime when you turn on the ignition. Put a test light or multimeter up to the fuel pump wiring and have someone turn on the ignition to see if you get voltage to the fuel pump. Another way is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and crank it to see if it gets pressure.

Change the crank position sensor. Won't necessarily throw a fault code, unless it happens to crap out when you're driving. It's a fifteen minute job, tops, and it's easiest if you climb on top of the engine
