Kickdown Switch

Hi guys I'm new to the forum I just picked up a 2001 e55 couple weeks ago the car is in great condition and drives real good. I tried to do a kickdown few times but nothing clicked under the pedal so I looked underneath the pedal the top half of the switch seems missing because I looked up the switch looks different then the one in my car. I'm thinking the top half came off or something. I want to replace the switch so could I do it myself or should I take it to a shop? What do you guys think

You can do it by yourself, it's so easy, just unplug the wire connector then press it from the sides, it will comes out immediately,,

The picture is rotated sorry about that.

This is how it looks and im guessing it shouldn't look like this at all. And I tried pulling it out doesn't budge I don't know if I am doing it correctly.
