E55 extended warranty
At the rate I'm going, I'll burn through my warranty in two years. I talked with the dealership today about an extended warranty (a total of 100k miles for $2550).
Any opinions on whether the Mercedes extended warranty is the way to go, or some third-party?
Thanks.

I've read Consumer Reports, Consumers Guide and listened to the radio consumer/financial gurus for decades and not a single one has ever recommended a "third party" extended warranty! Nothing but nightmares about third party warranty places..where Billy Bob will work on your Mercedes!<G>! I'not implying that there _aren't _ any good ones, I have personally just not ever heard of any that were better than the manufactuers own extended warranty, especially for high end cars like MBNZ's!
If you really need that after warranty peace of mind..go with the official MNBZ extended warranty! Just my personal observations/opinions! Good luck!

Otto,
Thanks for the opinion.
I'm about to head out to the hill country west of San Antonio for a couple of days. Any favorite roads for storming in your E55?

Out Of Control!!
While it is definitely easier to have an extended warranty directly from Mercedes, most aftermarket warranties do allow you to get the work done at your dealer or a shop of your choice.

V1 = Valentine 1, hardwired in (with remote display unit). As MacAddict magazine would say, "Freakin' Awesome!" Another radar detector would do if you wanted to slow down every time there was a radar transmitter around. If -- hypothetically, now -- you wanted to slow down only when the transmitter was of a strength and in a direction that made it a threat, you'd probably want to seriously consider installing a V1.
