What do you think this bloke did to his E55?

Hello guys,
During my continuous long quest to find the Perfect sounding E55, I've stumbled across this Clip:
I like how the sound is less bassy and more throaty/raspy/defined.
I asked the bloke what are the mods, he removed the resonator and placed an x-pipe with the stock manifolds & stock muffler.
I have an X-pipe replacing the 2nd cats with the resonator removed, yet I can't get mine to sound like that or even close! Bass and lots of it.
Any suggestions?

Cheers

Faiz

I am going to guess that he has gutted cats. Essentially no cats. Cats smooth sound out and filter out the raspy-ness of a straight through system which the E55's is.

Might be just straight pipes without cats and resonator.

The guy responded to his video on YouTube and said he also replaced the muffler. That could explain it. He has been asked what muffler it is. Hopefully he will respond again.

My guess would be strait pipe all the way back with a supersprint muffler.

Guys, thank so much for your help.
It appears that he deleted the reply where he tells me that the muffler is stock never mind.
The tone is very similar to the Eisenmann.
I know that cats smooth the raspinness, but I also believe that the tremendous amount of bass comes from the stock muffler, right?

Cheers.

Yes, I believe so. Mine sounded more bass because I have the stock muffler. I had my 2nd cats and resonator delete in place of a x-pipe and mandrel bends but yeah....this guy has his muffler change. Not sure what type of muffler but the oem ones doesn't sound like that.
