'99 E55 vs '00-'01 E55

hello all...
besides the obvious body differences,
are performance statstics the same?
does the '99 E55 have problems the '00-01 E55 does not?

i sort of like the raw look of the '99 model better and it also less money to get than the '00-01 models...

any feedback would be great!

thanks!

There is no performance difference. The 2000+ models do have the shiftable Autostick and steering wheel controls.

Performance is identical. Like Kev said, there are a few cosmetic and mechanical upgrades to the 00+ models.

Are you buying? My 99 is for sale.

How much are you asking?
What options do you have and how many miles?

any reliability issues with between the '99 and '00/01 models?

i sort of feel the older the benz, the better the reliability.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Unfortuantely here, that's...

not the case. I have had a 99 and 2 2000's. The 2000 up cars have far superior build quality to the 99, and much better features. Dont forget that 2000 also had prepaid service and SOS, not to mention the better looking body panels. These cars are absolutely nowhere in the market right now, so you can get lots of car for the $$. Hope this helps.
